What do I do with my time?

I’ve taken up a new hobby: Holding my breath. Yes, that’s right. I sit there like an idiot in class holding my breath. Eventually, unable to hold it in anymore, I exhale like I just took the biggest bong hit ever.

Usually, I’ll try to count the seconds I am able to hold it, however sometimes I do it just to do it. I have a theory that counting makes you aware you’re not breathing and psyches you out into holding your breath for a shorter time.

I’m not sure their are any health benefits to holding your breath. In fact, I can’t really think of any real application for this skill. Maybe my car is sinking into a large body of water? Perhaps I need to rescue someone in a pool? Not very likely. However, I have a new personal best.

excuse me…health benefits??!! YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BREATHE.

although i can sort of see how it could be useful in a sinking-car situation.

I thought about like toxic waste or something, but I’m pretty sure even if you didn’t breathe it would burn your eyes out or something equally gruesome.

As for the health benefits, I think there are some. The longer you can hold your breath, the more efficient your body is at respiration. Isn’t that every athletes big deal? I mean, yes that’s faulty logic, but still.

@Marie – I don’t need school to challenge me. I challenge myself. (Alternate Phrasing with potentially retarded implication: I am challenged by myself.)
